How to record your Mac screen with audio
Recording your Mac's own sound (a video, a call, a game) together with your voice usually means installing virtual audio drivers. Not with Recfly: turn on “System Audio” and “Microphone” and both end up in the same MP4.
Step by step
- 1
Open Recfly and choose the area
Full screen, a region or a single app.
- 2
Turn on audio
Enable “System Audio” for your Mac's sound and “Microphone” for your voice.
- 3
Record
Press Record or ⌥⇧⌘R. After the 3-2-1 countdown recording starts; the first time, macOS asks for permission.
- 4
Stop and save
Press ⌃⌘⎋, review, trim if you like and save the MP4.
Questions
Why doesn't my video have the Mac's sound?
Turn on “System Audio” before you start and check the permission in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording.
Can I record only my voice or only the Mac's sound?
Yes. Turn on just the one you need: microphone, system audio or both.
